“Fantastic hotel in the city”
5 / 5 stars September 2012
Stayed at he Serena many times and always look forward to return. It has very
friendly and helpful staff, and all the services are great. It's location is
quiet yet very convinient to access business meetings in town. The rooms are
quite spacious, ideal for holiday relaxation or in room working. It is the best
n Kampala.
“Best in Kampala”
5 / 5 stars September 2012
Great rooms and superb front office staff. Arrived without a confirmed booking and they quickly sorted me out - and they were full. Great ambience (music from the frogs) at the downstairs bar (Mist); great before going out and well priced bitings. Food in the restaurants could be better but the staff make up for it. Well priced for East Africa and quality of the product.
“Great for business”
4 / 5 stars September 2012
Kampala Serena is the place to stay. Here you can invite your business associates with pride. Service is excellent, rooms excellent, food good. whole trip good value for money.
Good quality rooms and exceptional breakfast. Staff extremely friendly, willing and able.
Efficiernt business centre and inroom fascilities for laptop computer.
“A beautiful oasis in Kampala”
5 / 5 stars August 2012
The Kampala Serena is a beautiful hotel situated in a tropical garden. While
there, you feel a million miles away from the noise and traffic of Kampala. The
large gardens contain full-sized trees, flowering plants, fountains, ponds, a
stream, and a waterfall. The lobby is nicely laid out and furnished, with several
chair and sofa groupings to encourage guests to sit and talk or read. African
artwork decorate the lobby and the hallways of the higher floors. Desk staff
are friendly, efficient, and helpful.
“Just improve the food”
4 / 5 stars August 2012
The Serena hotel is certainly one of the best in Africa, and is my personal favourite
place to stay when in Kampala. The best thing without a doubt is the staff and
how polite, friendly and attentive they are. Other good points are the central
location, the tasteful and peaceful decor, the comfortable and relatively spacious
rooms, and the beautiful pool area. Big complaint is for a frequent visitor,
the menu is frustratingly limited and for
the long term guest, it is nothing short of soul destroying.
In the Pearl restaurant they have not altered the menu
at all in six years!
A solid choice for Kampala”
4 / 5 stars August 2012
We were told there were only two great hotels in Kampala and the Serena is the only one downtown so that made it easy to choose where to stay. No complaints at all. Our room was big, the food was good (we loved the local avocados), there is a large (unheated) swimming pool, hairdresser on the premises and friendly staff.
“Loved the Serena”
5 / 5 August 2012
I stayed at the Serena for a week, and it's a lovely hotel. One of the best 5
stars in terms of service.
“Everything You Could Want in Africa”
5 / 5 stars July 2012
A friendly and competent staff, spacious rooms that are beautifully decorated and quite modern, luxurious linens, the food is quite good and the choices are plentiful. The hotel works with local farmers to source its food, so is a good neighbor to its community. Local specialties as well as international favorites on the menu. Take your choice of swimming pools, and don't leave without trying the spa. But make your reservations early. The hotel is one of the best in Uganda, favored by international business travelers as well as tourists. It's expensive, but not out of line with other upscale hotels in Africa.
